I am completely loving the polka dots that have graced the catwalks for most of the Autumn/Winter collections for 2011. Who doesn’t love a print? Polka Dots are so easy to wear and give a plain ensemble that little something extra. I am really partial to the sheer polka dot fabrics as shown on the Gucci dress. It again goes back to that Sixties inspiration and I think this is particularly obvious in the Yves Saint Laurent dress. It’s not just the designers and fashion lovelies which have jumped on this spotty bandwagon, celebrities the world over have already embraced the trend. Here are some of their dotty interpretations:

Kate Winslet in Stella McCartney

Olivia Palermo in Bensoni

Olivia Wilde in the fabulous Gucci creation

Alexa Chung

Ashley Olsen

Kirsten Dunst

As you can see there are many ways to work this trend and you can do a subtle dotted scarf or blouse, or you could go dotty from head to toe. Either way you will look fabulous, you just can’t go wrong with polka dots! I know I’ll be indulging in some spotty service this season, will you? XOXO
