A Vision of Spring

Gone are the days of wrapping up through the cold, grey and miserable weather; spring is upon us and I cannot wait to hang up the chunky knits. The new season’s trends have hit the shops and I’m ready and waiting for those first few rays of sunshine.

This year I am really feeling some hippie style for spring / summer which fits right in with many of the season’s trends: lace, prints, pastels, fringing & feathers. I love the above image as she looks, summery, stylish and the whole outfit screams simple chic!

A little bit of boho is a classic spring / summer look, the perfect base to start your spring wardrobe from and it’s easy to wear! To create this look wear long flowing tops layered over shorts or flared jeans, team with head bands, long necklaces and flats.

Prints are a great way to bring this classic spring / summer look into 2012, go for a gorgeous print blouse or maxi skirt. Also look for light weight and lace fabrics in neutral colours, this way you can blend different garments together well.

Here is some fabulous fashion inspiration for a modern hippie look:

As you can see from these images this is a perfect look for spring which you can layer to dress up or down. You can really take this trend and make it your own by adding accessories.

If you like a bit of celebrity style inspiration, look to Nicole Richie who has perfected the modern hippie look.

Nicole wears loose flowing tops often teamed with denim, fringed accessories, head bands and long necklaces.

Nicole also has her own sixties inspired clothing range called Winter Kate and a jewellery range called House of Harlow 1960:

She is often seen wearing her own designs, so if you want a piece of Nicole’s style for yourself both of these ranges are available in the UK at ASOS – www.asos.com .

What will you be wearing this spring? XOXO
