Maternity Style Bite: George at ASDA

Now that I’m in the last few weeks of pregnancy trying to find something that even fits has become a challenge, let alone something stylish.

If you’ve kept up with my pregnancy updates you’ll know that up until recently I’ve mixed bigger sized basics with maternity pieces. Currently my bump seems to get bigger every day and is protruding from the bottom of most of my tops – not a desirable look I’m sure you’d agree. So I’ve been on the hunt for some maternity clothes that are stylish, comfortable, fit me and don’t break the bank – Hello George at ASDA.

I’ve found the George maternity range has some great pieces that you can style up at a low price. Here are some pieces that I’m now living in to get me through the last few weeks before Baby Douglas arrives . . .

Floral Print Blouses

Prints have been big over the last few Summer seasons and this year floral prints are taking on a life of their own, I’m loving the light weight blouses with colourful prints, perfect to give an everyday outfit an edge. Here’s some street style inspiration:

Tribal Street Style

You definitely would of seen this trend on the catwalks and now it’s filtering down to the High Street with patterned vests, dresses and skirts sitting between the bright pastels on the rails of Topshop, but what is the right way to wear tribal? Here’s some street style inspiration:

Floral Jumpsuits – to wear or not to wear?

Last week you may have seen Sam Faiers from TOWIE pictured wearing a blue floral jumpsuit, while I quite like the look it generally divided opinion, so here we are – I’ve decided to dedicate a post to exploring this look.

Maternity Fashion Inspiration

Currently I’m 17 weeks pregnant and as my tummy is slowly growing each week, less and less of my clothes are fitting which is very frustrating! So far I’m mainly wearing skinny jeggings (as they have a stretchy waist) long stretchy vests teamed with a blazer or long cardigan. This is fine but I’m already starting to get bored of the look. It’s also difficult as there is a severe lack of maternity wear on the High Street so it’s difficult to find particular looks just by going shopping. So I’ve decided to look as some of my style icons to see how they dressed their own bumps:

Style Bite: Crop Tops & Pencil Skirts

I am loving this trend as it’s a great way to show off your figure in a demure and ladylike fashion. This trend has been creeping in over the last few seasons and now for Summer 2014 it is going to be huge. If you walk into any High Street store you’ll see the Spring stock of crop tops and pencil skirts are already in. I’m so annoyed that this trend is having a moment right now because being pregnant I can’t really embrace this look – I can’t image a crop top followed by growing bump and then a super tight pencil skirt is a desirable silhouette! Anyway for those of you who are not preggo here’s some gorgeous celebrity fashion inspiration:

Style Bite: The Tea Dress

I love a tea dress, cute, girly and a hint of vintage styling, how could you not? As a garment the Tea Dress really has stood the test of time and is always in style. Here’s the latest Tea Dress I bought to add to my 2014 wardrobe in my bid to wear more colour.
